RFID wristbands are very popular ID devices. They are easy to use and pleasant to look at. RFID wristbands are generally used at:
- fitness clubs and gyms;
- hotels and resorts;
- amusement parks;
- public transport;
- various ACS companies.
We decided to find out how to make RFID wristbands even more functional and found a solution to install two chips (a low-frequency (LF) chip and a high-frequency (HF) chip) inside a wristband. As a result, we are happy to offer you our dual chip type contactless wristband!
What design concept does a dual chip type RFID wristband have?
Just like the combined type chip card, the dual chip type RFID wristband has two chips installed. Their stable operation is provided by the fact that they emit signals at different frequencies.
E.g., we offer a low-frequency chip that operates at 125 kHz, and a high-frequency chip that operates at 13.56 MHz, and the SMARTTAG® Class chips.
Generally, only one chip is scanned be the reader because the signal is transmitted at a specific frequency. Therefore, there can be no interferences or errors.
A dual chip type RFID wristband does not differ in any way from a standard RFID wristband.
It performs the same functions as a usual contactless wristband. A dual chip type RFID wristband can be used as:
- access pass,
- smart key,
- ID card,
- payment device,
- loyalty card.
In addition to all of the above, it can also be used in access control systems, where readers of completely different standards are installed. E.g., a LF reader is installed in the Entry Control Point at the building entrance. But in the same building, a gym is equipped with HF readers. Besides, dual chip type wristbands are used to limit access to different rooms in the same building. The employees of the Economic Department will not get access to production facilities, and the clients of the fitness club, who have bought a standard membership, will not get access to the VIP room, etc.
The dual chip type RFID wristbands are a perfect solution for schoolchildren. A student can use the same wristband to pass through the turnstile at the school entrance, pay for lunch at the canteen, and also open the intercom door in his/her house.
It is very convenient and handy, isn't it? You don't have to buy a smart key or another wristband. A single RFID has multiple functions.
